New Year Party Inspiration.

Need a little inspiration for what to wear this New Year's Eve? I found these sparkling outfits in the 2010 Arden B. holiday lookbook. They all showcase the perfect amount of glam needed to ring in the New Year.

Furrrrrr-ocious.

Currently I am fixated on fur. Fur coats, vests, hats, boots and bags. It's the perfect way to add a little bit of luxury to your winter style.

Tiffany Windows.

I have always been in love with anything Tiffany & Co. and have actually been lucky enough to receive one little blue box in my day. There is something about this company that is simply just enchanting- the color scheme, the tiny box and ribbon, the sparkle, the timelessness, the advertisements. Whatever it is they do, they do it well and never seem to disappoint. Their holiday window display this year was nothing short of spectacular...

Definitely would make me want to buy a jewel or two or five ;-)

Winter Wonderland.

"When it snows, ain't it thrilling, though your nose gets a chilling. We'll frolic and play, the eskimo way, walking in a winter wonderland."

Chicago.

Central Park

Paris.

Toomers Corner in Auburn, Al (our approach to a "snow-covered tree").

Some of my favorite places covered in beautiful, wintery whiteness. A lot of my friends had the luxury of seeing a White Christmas yesterday, even down here in the south. Dothan, however, no such luck. Dreaming to be blessed with just one day of snow this winter...

For Unto Us...

"For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

DIY Holiday Happies.

So this could be considered last minute, but these little DIY Christmas crafts are quick and easy and can really spruce up a room or add some Holiday cheer. I've always been a crafty person... but something about the holidays really gives me the urge to create and decorate. The best thing about these in my opinion... change color schemes or tweek just a little and they could be used and implemented all year round. Perfection.

Wrap yarn around styrofoam balls and connect around a wreath frame... watch out if you have cats!

Transform ordinary 99 cent glass ornaments into something unique; Paint on a design or insert little "do-dads."

Print your favorite photos in black and white or sepia and pin up in a circle.

Get an old antique drying rack and hang up vintage ornaments. A different approach to the classic ornamented tree.

Fill an apothecary jar with little light bulbs. Even without electricity, these lights are a great way to add a splash of color to any room.

Daisies iniside a canister of cranberries is a festive way to spread holiday cheer or would look great as a centerpiece for Christmas lunch.

Christmas Card Craving.

I discovered these vintage Christmas Cards on Etsy today. I thought they were absolutely adorable... a little too late to order them now, but definitely something to look into for next year. My favorite part- the incorporation of pink envelopes. I think it "gives it a little something extra, don't ya think?"

OPI is in Order.

So I may be a tad behind here... I haven't seen the movie yet, but if it is any reflection of OPI's Burlesque collection I'm sure it is FABULOUS. In my opinion, this is the perfect winter collection. Plenty of sparkle for the holidays as well as some bold polishes to add some color to the mostly brown, black, and gray outfits that are overdone this time of year. My roommate recently had her nails done with "Bring on the Bling" (first polish on the second row) and it soon became my favorite... perfect for the holiday season. I can't lie, I'm not a huge Christina or Cher fan myself, but if there is sparkle and shine in the movie like in this collection, well, I'm sold.

Check out the link to the OPI website. All of their collections and colors are listed and there is even a tab where you can "try on" any nail color. Oh, and there's a sneak peak at the collection coming in January... Katy Perry (which I am pumped about).

Lovely Lace.

There is something so classic about nude and blush colored lace pieces. Lace was a fresh trend in the spring and has quickly become one of my favorites this fall and winter as well. Being subtle, versatile, and feminine, lace is definitely a necessary wardrobe staple for all seasons.

Mugged.

The smell, the taste, the warmth... there is something about this time of year that makes coffee oh so much more appealing. Especially when you can drink them out of mugs like these...

The classic Starbucks Mug is a must.

A Tiffany's box and a latte would suit me just fine.

Christmas cheer in a cup.

Giving It Another Go.

So a few months ago (more like 6) I was really into the whole blog thing and decided I wanted to make one of my own... that lasted all of about 2 posts. SO... in honor of being bored at home for a month over Christmas Break, I think I will give it one more shot. My blog obsession never really died, just my attempt at making my own. Here I am, 6 months later, sitting in the same spot on my couch at home... here we go.

All American.

When I look at this photo, 2 words come to my mind. Nautical and Escape. Everything that a typical 4th of July weekend should be...My 4th weekend this year took a different turn. I had all of my red, white, and blue outfits ready and even my red and white swimsuit for the beach weekend planned with a few friends. Unfortunately, I got a little sick and spent Independence Day in Dothan, AL. Not the original plan... but Dad grilled out, there was plenty of food to be had, and my family went into movie marathon mode. It turned out to be a pretty okay weekend considering the circumstances, but I still can't help but to look at this photo in hopes of a fabulous, nautical getaway for next year.

Test Drive...

daily drops of sunshine... I feel that title is appropriate for the type of blog I am going for. I love sunshine and there are so many other little things in life that make me happy, which are like drops of sunshine to me in a, sometimes cloudy, world. I plan for this blog to be centered around the things I love most and life in general.

I love reading fashion blogs and discovering new styles and trends. I love looking at photography blogs. I love reading my friend's blogs and seeing what they have going on and like to write about. Finally, it occurred to me, maybe I should create my own blog. I would have to say this really isn't something I would ever see myself doing, but I figure I might as well give it a shot. It's a great way for me to record the little things that inspire me and that I love. Not to mention one day I will be able to look back and reminisce on fond college memories that are being made. So here I am, jumping on this blogging bandwagon and hoping I catch on quickly. Summer seemed like a great time to start... I figure if this doesn't work out for me I can just count it as one of my many summer obsessions. Happy Holiday Weekend to everyone.
